New Videate integration enables users to generate videos from Oxygen

Automatically create software videos without leaving Oxygen XML Web Author
Austin, Texas, January 26, 2023. Videate launched its new plug-in for Oxygen XML Web Author. This integration enables users to preview and render videos without leaving Oxygen.
Competitors require users to screen record, voice record, and edit videos manually. Videate enables users to instantly create, update, and localize videos from a script, complete with human-like text to speech voiceover and mouse movements.
This is the latest in Videate’s efforts to “bring Videate to where you work”, enabling users to generate videos in the tools they already use daily without going to another platform.
Generate videos within Oxygen
Previously, users uploaded their scripts as XML documents into the Videate platform. With the new Oxygen XML Web Author integration, they can click to render the video within Oxygen itself. This creates an even more streamlined workflow, designed to cause as little disruption to one’s workday as possible.
Videate’s new Oxygen Web plug-in replaces the desktop editor version and will also allow integration with IXIASOFT's CCMS. It appears as a side panel in Oxygen so users can perform additional Videate functions directly in the authoring tool.
Michael Iantosca, Sr. Director, Platform & Tools at Avalara, says:
“Having Videate integrated with the Oxygen Web editor in our IXIASOFT CCMS means we gained the ability to automate the creation, workflow management, reuse, collaboration, and localization of automatically-generated software videos from single-source, at scale with DITA.
It also provides us with one-button push publishing to our content delivery platform, Zoomin Software, for agile delivery to any channel and in any language.
The era of costly and time-consuming software video production is history.”
The new plug-in is available to Videate users effective immediately.
Bringing Videate to the tools you already use
The addition of this plug-in builds on the growing list of integrations, including Office 365, Google, Xyleme, and now Oxygen Web.
For technical documentation users, this is part of Videate’s ongoing integration with CCMSes. A similar plug-in for Heretto CCMS users is in development.
